Teaching red digital cinema
Notre Dame has been using RED cameras since the RED One MX. I started learning about RED at the first class, 001, at the LA City Studios and now I am a lead instructor for the re-launching of the REDUCATION program. Along with pals, Mark Pederson, Ivan Agerton and Keaton Bowlby, we forged an online program during the pandemic and now just launched the first in-person class at RED Studios in March 2022. Along with my great friend, Jessi Laday, who leads the REDUCATION program, we went to South Africa to work with NEWF. There we held a lab for talented, aspiring filmmakers from all over Africa on how to shoot and edit with RED camera systems. NEWF was founded and run by the wonderful Noel Kok and Pragna Parsotam-Kok.
